About Alexandria

Alexandria Assentato M.S., CCC-SLP/SLS P.C. is licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist in New Jersey. She holds a masters degree from New York University, a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and a New Jersey Speech Language Specialist Certificate.

Alex is an experienced therapist who has evaluated and treated individuals with a variety of different speech and language disorders. Alex specializes in the area of motor speech disorders including Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Acquired Apraxia, and Dysarthria. She is a PROMPT Certified clinician and has received advanced training in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC). Alex is an Orofacial Myologist with extensive training in the study and treatment of oral and facial muscles as they relate to speech, feeding, and overall mental and physical health. She uses this knowledge and expertise when treating children and adults with Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD’s). In addition, Alex has extensive training in early language development, expressive and receptive language, aphasia, speech sound disorders, AAC, social communication, ASD, and sensory processing.

Alex believes in a holistic and individualized approach to therapy, which encompasses the full person, their support team, and their relationship with her as a therapist.

In her free time, Alex enjoys being at the shore and spending time with friends and family.
